Privacy Policy

A legal disclaimer

Kerrone Bar (we, us, our) respects your privacy and is committed to handling your personal information openly, transparently, and in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and store it, and the choices and rights you have.

This policy applies to our website, our online gift card and booking services, our social media channels, and our in-venue marketing sign-ups at 26 Bank Street, Adelaide, South Australia, 5000. By using our website or providing us with personal information, you agree to the terms of this policy.

NB: Many businesses of our size fall below the annual turnover threshold that triggers mandatory coverage under the Privacy Act. We have chosen to comply with the Australian Privacy Principles as best practice regardless, because we think that's simply the right way to treat our guests.

Privacy Policy - the basics

1. Who We Are

Kerrone Bar is a licensed hospitality venue located in Adelaide, South Australia, operated by Kerrone Pty Ltd (ABN 92 698 636 627), referred to in this policy as “Kerrone Bar”, “we”, “us” or “our”.

Our contact details are set out in section 13 below.

2. What Personal Information We Collect

The personal information we collect depends on how you interact with us. It may include:

  • Contact details — name, email address, phone number, and suburb(for example, when you join our mailing list, make a booking, win a prize or order a gift card).

  • Booking and reservation details — date, time, group size, seating preferences, dietary or accessibility requirements you choose to share.

  • Payment information — processed securely by our third-party payment providers for gift card purchases, deposits, or online orders. We do not store full card numbers on our own systems.

  • Gift card data — sender and recipient names, gift messages, gift card balances, and redemption history.

  • Marketing preferences — your subscription and consent status for emails, SMS, and other communications.

  • Enquiries and feedback — anything you tell us via contact forms, phone, email, or social media, including function and event enquiries.

  • Technical and usage data — IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, and referring pages, collected automatically via cookies and analytics tools when you visit our website (see section 6).

  • CCTV footage — for safety and security purposes when you visit the venue in person, in accordance with applicable signage and South Australian law.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive information (such as health information beyond dietary or accessibility requests you volunteer) unless you provide it to us directly, and it is reasonably necessary for us to deliver a service you have asked for.

3. How We Collect Your Information

We may collect personal information:

  • Directly from you, when you make a booking, purchase a gift card, sign up to our mailing list, enter a promotion, contact us, or visit the venue.

  • Automatically through our website and email platforms, using cookies, pixels, and similar technologies.

  • From third parties, such as booking platforms, payment processors, event ticketing partners, or social media platforms (for example, when you interact with our Instagram or Facebook page).

  • From publicly available sources, where reasonably necessary, such as when responding to a public social media comment or review.

Where practical, we collect personal information directly from you and will let you know if we are unable to do so.

4. Why We Collect, Use and Hold Your Information

We collect, hold, use and disclose personal information for purposes including:

  • Processing bookings, orders, gift card purchases and redemptions, and function or event enquiries.

  • Responding to your questions, feedback, and complaints.

  • Sending you marketing communications about events, offers, and news — where you have consented, or as otherwise permitted by law (see section 5).

  • Operating and improving our website, including analysing how it is used.

  • Maintaining the safety and security of our venue, staff, and guests (including CCTV).

  • Complying with our legal, regulatory, and liquor licensing obligations.

  • Preventing fraud, misuse of gift cards, and other unlawful activity.

We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for these purposes.

5. Direct Marketing

We will only send you direct marketing (such as email newsletters or SMS promotions) where you have consented and opted in, or where the law otherwise allows it — for example, if you have made a purchase from us and marketing relates to similar goods or services, consistent with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).

Every marketing email or SMS we send includes a clear way to unsubscribe or opt out at any time, free of charge. You can also opt out by contacting us directly using the details in section 13. We will process your request promptly.

Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure these providers protect your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles, including through contractual protections where appropriate. By providing us with your personal information, you consent to this overseas storage and processing.

  • Using secure, reputable third-party platforms for payments, bookings, and email marketing.

  • Restricting access to personal information to staff who need it to do their jobs.

  • Using password-protected systems and, where applicable, encryption.

No method of storage or transmission over the internet is completely secure. While we work hard to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably necessary for the purposes we collected it for, or as required by law (for example, tax and liquor licensing record-keeping obligations). Where information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to securely destroy or de-identify it.
